The Indian Premier League (IPL), which is being played in the UAE from September 19 next month, will also see a setback to the state's young batsman Abdul Samad. Star batsman Abdul Samad Sunrisers, who is part of the Jammu and Kashmir Ranji cricket team, will appear to be playing on behalf of Hyderabad. Samad Virawar has left for Mumbai from Jammu airport. After spending three days in Mumbai, 23 will go to UAE with the team. Abdul Samad, the only player from Jammu and Kashmir, has been selected in the IPL auction this time. Sunrisers Hyderabad has bought them in a base prize of 20 lakh.

In Ranji Trophy, Samad drew attention to his unafraid batting. During the spectacular batting at Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ranji, he was summoned by Sunrisers Hyderabad for trial.
